I’m a big fan of Ms. Fiona because I like her sound, and she has talent. Her debut album, “The Bridge” has already been released internationally, but its U.S. release has been pushed back yet again to November.

I’ve been listening to The Foreign Exchange “Leave It All Behind” album since last winter, and they’re still releasing music videos. The sign of a good album: I’m still excited when they’re released. View The Foreign Exchange’s music video “House of Cards” featuring Muhsinah, which came out today.

Happy 16th KeKe!

kekeI would like to wish a Happy 16th Birthday to Ms. Keke Palmer.

Ever since I watched “Akeelah and the Bee,” I’ve liked her. She’s talented, and brings up a W word rarely used nowadays — she seems wholesome. I just love her. I hope her career only gets better in the future.

KeKe, please don’t get older and start posting naked pics of yourself online, dancing on a pole or showing up in some rap video half-naked as a “video model.” You’re too good for that.

And I’m excited. Forget all that health care stuff everyone is talking about — my show’s back on the air! Just kidding.

But I really can’t think of another reality show that I love like “Project Runway.” I love it all, from Tim Gunn, to the drama while they’re in the design room, to the highs and lows on the runway. It’s not one of those reality shows where no one is really doing anything. The contestants have to display their creativity and talent every episode to actually make something.

After Lifetime bought the show, and it went through some legal issues with Bravo, I wasn’t sure what the show would be like when it returned. I even refused to watch the knockoff version of the show on Bravo, “The Fashion Show.” But after a long hiatus, the sixth season of “Project Runway” airs tonight on Lifetime.

I really have been all about the music lately.

I was soo excited earlier this spring about Melanie Fiona’s debut album, which was supposed to release this summer. But, alas, it was pushed back to the early fall. She’s released a live mixtape as a teaser to “The Bridge” album. It’s a live jam session with Melanie Fiona featuring ?uestlove from The Roots. I loved listening to the soulful sounds on this mixtape and I wanted to share for those who haven’t heard of her yet.

You can download the mixtape here. Give Ms. Fiona a listen.

I always give the artists I enjoy listening to a lot of love on WLLC. And if you’ve read the blog for a minute, it’s no secret that I love K’Jon’s “On the Ocean.” I love that the song actually has a message: struggling to fulfill your dreams.  And K’Jon’s personal story is inspiring. I’m really excited to see what’s in store for K’Jon when his debut album drops in August. Here’s the official video for the song, which was released this week:
